Choosing to see a counsellor, any counsellor, can be difficult and might even require courage. It’s OK to be nervous or ambivalent about seeking out help and support. It’s also OK to be happy and relieved. Whatever you’re thinking or feeling about entering counselling, if you believe it might help you through whatever you’re facing, I encourage you to take the leap. Find someone who fits with you and explore the possibilities of an enriched life. The risk is worth it.
I like to work from a relational stance. I use methods that encourage clients to recognize their situations and the issues that arise from them, and then acknowledge the emotions, thoughts, and behaviours that are difficult. Because I believe in the integration of mind, body, and spirit, I use a variety of therapies that individually, or together, promote a healthy sense of self and relationship to other. For example: emotionally-focused, cognitive-behavioural, and body-focused therapies.
I generally like to start where people are at, and work with their strengths and vulnerabilities to create a healthy future. Every person comes to counselling with lived history, which is unique to them. While that history might weigh heavily on a person, it does not need to overwhelm them. I believe that people are resilient and capable of making their way through difficult situations. My job is to facilitate the strengths of each person as they manage their own lived history, and living moments

I look forward to meeting you and supporting you in your wellness goals.
I am a compassionate, personable individual who is passionate about helping others reach their goals. I believe that each person has value and the capacity for growth and healing. I enjoy working with individuals, teens, children, and families. I use a client-centered, strength-based approach and utilize evidence-based methods including play therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy and Rapid Eye Movement Desensitization (EMDR). I am currently enrolled in the play therapy certification program through The Canadian Association for Play Therapy and have completed levels 2 and 3. I believe that early relationships are a vital contributor to each child’s development and behaviour in life, and that a key piece in those early relationships is the development of play. I have significant experience working with children and teens in schools, homes, group home settings, and a correctional facility. In addition, I have several years of experience working with children and families who have special needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, and Pervasive Developmental Disorders.
I look forward to meeting you and supporting you in your wellness goals.

I have a Masters of Science in Psychology from the University of Northern British Columbia. I utilize an eclectic approach with an emphasis on client-centered Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I work with children, adolescents, adults, and couples/families to address a variety of issues that undermine one’s potential for happiness. These issues include, but are not limited to, depression, anxiety, stress management, body image, self-esteem, life transitions, behavioural issues, parenting issues, relationship struggles and family of origin issues. I have a special interest in working with individuals who are struggling to achieve or maintain a healthy weight and with individuals who are thinking about or have had bariatric surgery for weight loss.
I believe that every person deserves to, and can, live a happy, fulfilling, and healthy life. The struggles and challenges we sometimes face do not need to be battled alone. Sometimes we get “stuck” in life and do not have the tools to move forward. My goal as a therapist is to help clients explore their struggles and challenges, provide support during the healing process, and offer guidance as they disentangle from their past and begin to live freely in the present. I offer an accepting and safe space to heal, grow and change.
