Hello! My name is Claire Davie, and I am a post-practicum therapist with a Master of Counselling degree from City University of Seattle. I love hearing and learning about people’s stories and am endlessly curious about the human experience. I want to be able to help people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, and grief and loss. Also, I am interested in helping people heal in the aftermath of traumatic experiences such as a life-altering accident or health diagnosis, suicide, death of a loved one, or a relationship breakdown. Ultimately, my goal is to help my clients overcome whatever it is that is holding them back from achieving a fulfilling and authentic life.

I value the opportunity to work with those in my community who are seeking to bring positive change into their personal and professional lives. I have counselled collaboratively with diverse clients and embrace what makes each person unique by way of their race, culture, religion, and sexual orientation. I believe that people are social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, physical and occupational beings, so my goal is to work with clients on those aspects, that for them, are most pressing.

I hold a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology, an MBA and an undergraduate degree in Psychology. I have training and experience in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focussed Brief Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy. I am certified in the Hendricks Model of Couples therapy and have achieved level one and level two in Gottman’s Relationship Therapy, an approach I incorporate when working with couples addressing interpersonal issues.

My professional background includes 10 years as a mental health therapist and twenty years as an executive director and executive coach for individuals and teams.

I look forward to being of service to you as you seek change, knowledge, and resources in support of your goals to thrive personally and in your relationships. While we cannot change difficult situations in our past, we can work together to resolve current challenges and co-create a different and positive future.

I enjoy working with families, couples, children, adolescents, youth and adults. I am keen about supporting individuals in self–development and understanding processes as a plausible option to design, flourish and sustainably manage unique lived experiences. My supportive style relies on principles of self–efficacy, mindfulness, unconditional respect and dignity. I pragmatically tailor each support via diverse therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Bowenian Family Therapy, Client Centered Therapy, and concepts of Mindfulness. I completed my practicum at Third Academy special needs education school where I worked with diverse children and their family units. I have co-facilitated psycho-educational social skills groups for junior high school students at the school; and collaborated with teachers to customize diverse student’s learning abilities and experiences. I also volunteer with early childhood centers as a way to engage children while parents attend self–development sessions. I also have experience with, and understanding of, psycho-educational assessment processes and implications.
